I keep saying it was fate. Ed says otherwise...

Adding a class was the last thing I wanted to do during my second day at school, California State University, Sacramento. I already had my classes set up, but for some reason, I wanted to switch time slots of a computer class I had earlier that day. I took a seat and thought to myself that I was early. A few minutes later, Ed appeared.

I have to admit that I did not take notice. Of course,  I tried to keep to myself, even after his first words, "You look familiar; were you in my class yesterday?" Being the only two in class, I still looked around, and realized he was speaking to me (I guess I tried to ignore him). I don't know if what he said was true, but he told me that I gave him a dirty look after he said that. I might have looked puzzled or surprised. I just do not recall saying much to him.

After waiting for half an hour, we were the only two who showed up for that class (the class had been canceled which we did not know about). I just got up and left. Since I had that same class earlier, I figured I would stick with what I had. I never gave Ed another thought, until the next day...

In walked Ed as I waited once again for class to begin. That was not a line he had fed me. He saw me right away and sat in the available seat across from me. He told me that I was wearing the same dangling earrings when he first saw me (not when he first spoke to me)...and we've been together ever since.

Was it fate...or was it the earrings?
