Tribute to Monster & Baby

MONSTER

Ed & Monster

Before I met my husband, Ed, he was attached to another female...his cat, Monster, a gentle soul with a strong spirit. There was no reason for the name except that she certainly was not! The oldest cat we had, (exact age unknown, possibly, seventeen) she was near death when found. It was Ed's mother who discovered the abandoned kitty and nursed her back to health. But to her dismay, Monster did not welcome her with open "paws"...she found comfort with Ed instead.

Sadly, Monster passed away in her sleep,
August 20, 2000.

BABY

Baby

I have to thank Ed's sister, Lynn for introducing Baby to our family, (a name that best suit her since she thought she was). Because Lynne could not keep her after receiving her from a friend, she gave her to her mother. That was eleven years ago. Another kitty was nursed back to health, and found comfort with Ed, once again!

Sadly, Baby succumbed to a nasty infection that she had been harboring for an undesignated amount of time,
July 27, 2001.

Natasha

NATASHA

I should never tease Ed about saving another Kitty...After seeing a Baby look-a-like in the newspaper, I mentioned it to Ed. It got him thinking, but he did not react until I mentioned it again. Ed had to go to the pound but had me inquire about it. As he was waiting in the lobby, he saw a kitty in a cage. It reminded him of a cat he had as a youth, George. We left without a cat that day, but a few days later, after a mini vacation to Arizona, a surprise was waiting. Ed arranged to have his friend, Mike take and care for Natasha while we were away. Two kitties were saved, we just took one, fourteen years old. She was the first cat who did not latch on to Ed...she became my baby.

Sadly, Natasha received the diagnosis that her cancer was incurable, three months before Ed finally decided it was time let her sleep forever on
July 9, 2007.

We will spread their ashes at our favorite national park.

Just this side of heaven is a place called

Rainbow Bridge

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends
so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine,
and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old
are restored to health and vigor;
those who were hurt or maimed
are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams
of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content,
except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them,
who had to be left behind.

 They all run and play together,
but the day comes when one suddenly stops
and looks into the distance.

Her bright eyes are intent; Her eager body quivers.
Suddenly she begins to run from the group,
flying over the green grass,
her legs carrying her faster and faster.

 You have been spotted,
and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion,
never to be parted again.

The happy kisses rain upon your face;
your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet,
so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

 Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
