TIBERIUS

Getting more than what was bargained for was what Ed had gotten when he left a nearby grocery store. At first, he avoided contact when entering, but upon leaving, eyes met. Ed could not resist. Just one look was all it took! Actually, it was the plea of the little boy handling it. It was off to the pound unless the boy could give it away...Tiberius, (taken from Trekie, James "Tiberius" Kirk) became our third and only male cat, now sixteen years old.

XENOBIA

Upon donating newspapers at the nearby animal shelter, Ed came across a miniature Monster look-a-like. A frail but friendly kitty, she did not come home with him right away. She did, however, catch his attention. Since she was being transferred to the local Pet Smart at the end of the week, she was given one last chance. Because I am just as big a softy as Ed, I went with him and fell for the little kitty. That was just last September, 1997 when Xenobia (a name I found on the internet which means "gift of life") came home with us. She is probably thirteen years old and at this time, she STILL will not leave her designated room, AKA, Chicken Little.

Lady Kamani

LADY KAMANI

After Xenobia, we wanted no more kitties, for a while. We definitely were not looking for another one so soon, but we, actually I could not resist this one. Having a mission, she was the one who found me when I drove into the driveway. Out popped her little head when I got out of my car. Trying to persuade her to go back where she came from was hopeless. Of course, she did not understand. She was just trying to get out of the cold. With no collar, I took her in with hopes of finding her owner. As the days passed, with no claimants, but a new name, Lady Kamani (she looked liked a little lady so she had to have that title; Kamani, again found on the internet is  "a medicinally valued hardwood tree held sacred to the Polynesians, which bears sweetly fragrant clusters of white blossoms that represents protecting the sanctity and integrity of a place from negative energies; also heals trauma and disharmony by clearing the heart center in a person who has become insensitive and unloving") became our sixth kitty, now, eleven years old.
